About Ramalama

As they say, necessity is the mother of all invention. So true!

Ramalama was founded after the birth of my first niece when I went in search of a baby carrier that allowed us to bond without restricting my freedom and movement. I wanted a carrier that was easy to use, modern and practical without sacrificing my sense of style or our comfort. Shortly thereafter the first Ramalama carrier was in use and the company was born.

The Ramalama range has since grown to include luxury leather bags, and more recently our range of organic and eco friendly baby basics and maternity wear. Throughout the design process we always refer to our philosophy of ‘Functional Luxury’, to design for the modern family with style, practicality and exceptional quality.

Now, more than ever, we believe that our philosophy of ‘Functional Luxury’ includes incorporating sustainable practices into our operation. Our sustainability policy ranges from the everyday processes of how our office operates using energy efficient lighting, passive cooling, and recycling (to name a few strategies), to our choice of fabrics, suppliers, manufacturers, packaging and transportation.

We’re doing our best to minimise our impact on the earth and to give back to the community and, while there’s still some work to do, we’re proud of the steps we’re making.
